Tax Accountant

We are partnering with our client, a leading Top 20 accountancy and taxation practice with a strong presence in the Northeast, to hire an experienced Tax Accountant to join a busy and growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified tax professional to take the next step in their career, with strong exposure to advisory work, leadership, and a diverse client portfolio within a supportive and progressive team.

Location: Dundalk
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Working Model: Hybrid – 4 days in office, Friday working from home

Salary: 55k-65 DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Dundalk Tax Team, providing technical guidance and support
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and oversee the delivery of high-quality tax services
  • Oversee tax compliance, including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT returns
  • Provide practical tax advice and lead advisory projects including restructuring, CGT/CAT planning, corporate tax, and cross-border matters
  • Manage Revenue audits, interventions, and technical queries
  • Identify tax risks and provide commercially focused solutions
  • Manage workflow, deadlines, and resources across multiple client engagements
  • Build strong client relationships and support business development, proposals, and new business opportunities
  • Keep up to date with Irish tax legislation and contribute to the continued development of the Tax service

Requirements

  • CTA qualified
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of Irish tax legislation and compliance
  • Previous Assistant Manager or Manager experience within an Irish practice is highly desirable
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team
  • Strong client management and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and tax software
  • Proactive, ambitious, and committed to continuous professional development
