Osborne Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Fitter / Fabricator to join the maintenance team of a well-established and growing organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson who enjoys a varied, hands-on role working across machinery, mechanical equipment, vehicles and site infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, supporting continuous improvement projects and ensuring operations run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out fabrication and welding of steel components, machinery and equipment.
- Perform maintenance, repairs and installation of mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults on machinery and mechanical systems.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
- Repair and maintain conveyors, trailers, pumps, hydraulic systems and other mechanical equipment.
- Assist with machinery upgrades, fabrication projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Carry out servicing and basic repairs on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment where required.
- Maintain tractors, forklifts, telehandlers and other plant or agricultural machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise operational disruption.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete all required documentation.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to plan servicing schedules and repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Fitter, Fabricator, Maintenance Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance role.
- Strong welding and fabrication skills, including MIG, TIG and Arc welding.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
- Experience working with hydraulic, mechanical and diesel-powered equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience maintaining agricultural, plant or heavy machinery.
- Mechanical fitting or maintenance experience within a manufacturing, engineering or agricultural environment.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship.
- Experience with fabrication projects and machinery modifications.
- Forklift, telehandler or other mobile plant experience would be advantageous.
