SOC Analyst – L2

Location: Hybrid – City centre (1 day per week in the Dublin office)
Contract: Fixed-Term (12 Months) with possibility of extension
Salary: €45,526 – €61,827
Annual Leave: 26 Days + Public Holidays

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive SOC Analyst to join our Information Security team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career cyber security professional looking to build hands-on experience across security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, endpoint security, and governance support.

You will play a key role in protecting the organisation’s ICT environment by monitoring security events, responding to incidents, maintaining security controls, and supporting vulnerability and compliance activities. Working closely with ICT teams and external partners, you will help ensure security risks are identified, managed, and remediated effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations & Incident Response

• Monitor and manage security technologies including SIEM, EDR/XDR, antivirus, email security, and cloud security platforms.
• Investigate and triage security alerts, responding to incidents in accordance with established procedures.
• Support containment, remediation, and recovery activities while maintaining accurate incident documentation.
• Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Vulnerability & Patch Management

• Support vulnerability scanning across infrastructure, cloud environments, applications, and endpoints.
• Track and prioritise vulnerability findings, coordinating remediation with ICT teams and third-party suppliers.
• Validate remediation activities through re-scanning and follow-up reviews.
• Monitor patch compliance and identify gaps requiring attention.

Endpoint & Platform Security

• Assist with the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of endpoint security solutions.
• Monitor the effectiveness of security controls across ICT environments.
• Support the secure onboarding of new systems, ensuring appropriate monitoring, logging, and protection measures are implemented.
• Identify security control weaknesses and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve them.

Security Governance & Awareness

• Support cyber security awareness initiatives, including phishing simulations and user training.
• Assist with audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and evidence collection.
• Coordinate penetration testing activities and track remediation of identified findings.
• Provide operational cyber security support across ICT teams and collaborate with colleagues during audits, incidents, and peak workloads.

About You
You are a motivated cyber security professional with a strong technical foundation and a passion for protecting IT environments. You enjoy investigating issues, solving problems, and working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Essential Experience

• 1–3 years’ experience in Cyber Security, IT Operations, or ICT Support with security responsibilities.
• Knowledge of threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience working with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, antivirus, and vulnerability management tools.
• Good understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, networking fundamentals, and cyber security principles.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar.
• Experience following security policies, procedures, and operational processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting security awareness or phishing simulation programmes.
• Exposure to public sector or other regulated environments.
• Experience working alongside managed security service providers (MSSPs) or third-party vendors.

Qualifications

• Essential
• Relevant third-level qualification in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry certification.
• Desirable Certifications
• CompTIA Security+
• ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
• Microsoft Security (SC) or Azure (AZ) Certifications
• ISC² or ISACA Certifications
